Whether in art or philosophy, recent years have witnessed an outright run on the real, under banners such as speculative realism, neo-materialism, documentality, eco-realism, speculative poetics, or object-oriented aesthetics. Only progressively it starts to become clear that what these approaches respectively mean by realism differs sharply. The workshop shall confront various epistemic and artistic strategies seeking to grasp the ever-evading nature of reality, and work towards understanding the reasons behind this renewed desire for touching the \u201cthing itself\u201d. If the only claim these different realisms seem to agree upon is the need to decentre the human perspective, could it be that perspectivalness itself provides a key to a novel understanding of reality?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Revenons \u00e0 la r\u00e9alit\u00e9<\/em> <em>!<\/em> Que ce soit en art ou en philosophie, ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es ont \u00e9t\u00e9 marqu\u00e9es par une v\u00e9ritable ru\u00e9e vers le r\u00e9el, sous des banni\u00e8res telles que le r\u00e9alisme sp\u00e9culatif, le n\u00e9o-mat\u00e9rialisme, la documentalit\u00e9, l&#8217;\u00e9co-r\u00e9alisme, la po\u00e9tique sp\u00e9culative ou l\u2019esth\u00e9tique orient\u00e9e objet. On commence tout juste \u00e0 entrevoir les ab\u00eemes qui s\u00e9parent ces positions. Le workshop comparera diverses strat\u00e9gies \u00e9pist\u00e9miques et artistiques visant \u00e0 saisir la nature \u00e9vasive du r\u00e9el, et s&#8217;efforcera de comprendre les raisons animant ce d\u00e9sir de toucher \u00e0 la \u00ab chose en soi \u00bb. Si le seul point sur lequel ces diff\u00e9rents r\u00e9alismes semblent s&#8217;accorder est la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 de d\u00e9centrer la perspective humaine, ne serait-ce pas la perspectivit\u00e9 elle-m\u00eame qui pourrait fournir une nouvelle mani\u00e8re d\u2019appr\u00e9hender la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 ?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Back to the Real<\/em>! Ob in der Kunst oder in der Philosophie, in den letzten Jahren hat es einen regelrechten Run auf das Reale gegeben, unter Begriffen wie spekulativer Realismus, Neomaterialismus, Dokumentalit\u00e4t, \u00d6korealismus, spekulative Poetik oder objektorientierte \u00c4sthetik. Erst allm\u00e4hlich wird deutlich, dass das, was diese Ans\u00e4tze jeweils unter Realismus verstehen, mitunter weit auseinander liegt. Der Workshop setzt sich mit verschiedenen epistemischen und k\u00fcnstlerischen Strategien auseinander, um das sich stets zu entziehen drohende Reale zu erfassen, und fragt nach den Gr\u00fcnden f\u00fcr dieses neu entflammte Begehren nach der \u201eSache selbst\u201c.
