Doris Durán is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the #PopHealthLab at the University of Fribourg. She holds a dentistry degree from Universidad Finis Terrae in Chile and a Master’s in Public Health with a specialization in epidemiology, from Universidad de Chile. Additionally, she is completing the final stage of her PhD in epidemiology at McGill University in Canada.

Her dissertation incorporated multiple cause of death techniques to assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in cause-specific mortality in Switzerland, Brazil, Colombia and Canada. Her current research at the #PopHealthLab is within the SNSF grant 10002347: “Health inequalities over the lifecycle in Switzerland before and during the COVID-19 pandemic.
