Mariana Barragán De La Cruz, MD
Mariana Barragán De La Cruz, MD, is a PhD student at the #PopHealthLab, University of Fribourg. She holds an MSc in Global Health (University of Geneva), a DAS in Healthcare Management (Swiss TPH), and a Medical Degree from Mexico. Previously, she interned at the Luxembourg Institute of Health, conducting research on breast cancer survivors’ perspectives on return-to-work interventions.
Mariana’s PhD research investigates how working conditions affect breast cancer incidence, mortality and survival, using UK Biobank data. It also estimates the role of sleep, lifestyle and screening in these associations. Additionally, it examines how pre-diagnosis working conditions, sleep and lifestyle relate to return-to-work and life satisfaction in breast cancer survivors.
