Rose van der Linden is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the #PopHealthLab at the University of Fribourg. She holds a Bachelor degree in Health Sciences and a Master degree in Health Sciences Research, with a specialization in clinical epidemiology, both from Maastricht University, the Netherlands. Afterwards, she completed her PhD in demography at the University of Geneva as part of the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network “LONGPOP (Methodologies and Data mining techniques for the analysis of Big Data based on Longitudinal Population and Epidemiological Registers)” within the Horizon 2020 Programme of the European Commission. In her PhD project, she studied social inequalities in health in old-age with a special attention given to the influence of life trajectories and critical life evens on health inequalities, specifically frailty and cancer.

Her current research at the #PopHealthLab focuses on the effect of life course conditions on the risk of getting cancer later in life. Her research aims to explore different pathways to site-specific cancers in later life, including diet, physical activity, and participation in cancer screening programs.
