Fabienne Buholzer-Mercier
Fabienne Buholzer-Mercier is a PhD student at the #PopHealthLab at the University of Fribourg. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Social Sciences with a secondary discipline in Sports Sciences (Minor) from the University of Lausanne and a Master of Arts in Social Sciences specializing in Social Problems and Social Policy from the University of Fribourg. This training in the fields of social and health policy has enabled her to combine her academic knowledge with various jobs/internships at the same time. Over the course of her studies and work experience she has developed an interest in public health. At the moment, she is working as a social worker in the field of migration in parallel with her PhD project, which focuses on social inequalities among nationalities in the prevention of cancer in Switzerland. Her empirical approach considers historical trends.
