Gen\u00e8ve, 1974.<\/div><\/div><\/li>\n            <\/ul>\n        <\/div>\n        \n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-container-1 wp-block-group alignfull\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<h2 class=\"alignwide\">About our project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns alignwide\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>\u00ab La Croix face \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9toile rouge&nbsp;: humanitaire et communisme au 20<sup>e<\/sup> si\u00e8cle \u00bb<\/strong> est un projet de recherche de quatre ans (2021-2025) financ\u00e9 par le Fonds national suisse et bas\u00e9 au D\u00e9partement d\u2019histoire contemporaine de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Fribourg. Il porte sur la relation complexe qu\u2019ont entretenu, depuis 1917, le Comit\u00e9 international de la Croix-Rouge, les Croix-Rouge nationales et la Ligue des Soci\u00e9t\u00e9s de la Croix-Rouge et du Croissant Rouge (actuelle F\u00e9d\u00e9ration internationale des Soci\u00e9t\u00e9s de la Croix-Rouge et du Croissant-Rouge) avec les mouvements et les r\u00e9gimes communistes, ou plus g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement d\u2019inspiration marxiste. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il ambitionne d\u2019analyser les confrontations, les d\u00e9fis et les opportunit\u00e9s (souvent frustr\u00e9es) qui l\u2019ont caract\u00e9ris\u00e9e. Ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne \u00e0 la fois national et transnational, les luttes r\u00e9volutionnaires favoris\u00e8rent en effet l\u2019\u00e9mergence de nouveaux types de conflits arm\u00e9s, de nouveaux types d\u2019acteurs et de victimes qui vinrent bousculer les pr\u00e9suppos\u00e9s sur lesquels le Mouvement international de la Croix-Rouge s\u2019\u00e9tait construit et questionn\u00e8rent son universalit\u00e9. En se penchant sur ces derni\u00e8res, le projet propose d\u2019\u00e9valuer leur influence sur l\u2019\u00e9volution des normes et des pratiques humanitaires au cours du 20<sup>e<\/sup> si\u00e8cle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plus d&#8217;informations <a href=\"https:\/\/projects.unifr.ch\/redcross-redstar\/?page_id=41\" data-type=\"URL\">ici<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-top\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>&#8220;The Red Cross Facing the Red Star: Humanitarianism and Communism in the 20th century&#8221;<\/strong> is a four-year research project (2021-2025) funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation and based at the Department of Contemporary History of the University of Fribourg. It focuses on the complex relationship between the International Committee of the Red Cross, the National Red Cross Societies and the League of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (now the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies) with communist or more generally Marxist-inspired movements and regimes since 1917.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It aims to analyse the confrontations, challenges and (often frustrated) opportunities that characterised these exchanges. Revolutionary struggles, as a national and transnational phenomenon, favoured the emergence of new types of armed conflict, new types of actors and new types of victims that challenged the assumptions on which the International Red Cross Movement had been built and questioned its universality.
