Dipl\u00f4m\u00e9 de l\u2019Institut d\u2019Etudes Politiques de Paris, de l\u2019Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, de la Facult\u00e9 d\u2019Ethnologie de Paris VIII et docteur \u00e8s Lettres de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Gen\u00e8ve, Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Fayet est professeur ordinaire d\u2019histoire contemporaine de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Fribourg et chercheur associ\u00e9 au CERCEC de l\u2019EHESS. Ses travaux portent sur les mondes russes et sovi\u00e9tiques, le communisme international, l\u2019anticommunisme, la diplomatie culturelle et l\u2019action humanitaire.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

A graduate of the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris, the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, the Facult\u00e9 d’Ethnologie de Paris VIII, and a Doctor of Letters from the University of Geneva, Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Fayet is a full professor of contemporary history at the University of Fribourg and an associate researcher at the CERCEC of the EHESS. His work focuses on the Russian and Soviet worlds, international communism, anticommunism, cultural diplomacy and humanitarian action.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Marie-Luce Desgrandchamps a soutenu en 2014 une th\u00e8se de doctorat en cotutelle (UNIGE\/Universit\u00e9 Paris 1 Panth\u00e9on-Sorbonne) publi\u00e9e en 2018 sous le titre L\u2019humanitaire en guerre civile. La crise du Biafra (1967-1970)<\/em>. Gr\u00e2ce au soutien du FNS, elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 chercheuse invit\u00e9e au Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Manchester (postdoc, 2017-2019), \u00e0 New York University, au King\u2019s College London, et \u00e0 l\u2019Institut fran\u00e7ais de recherches en Afrique \u00e0 Ibadan (IFRA-Nigeria) (2011-2012). Laur\u00e9ate du prix \u00ab jeune chercheur \u00bb de la Fondation Croix-Rouge fran\u00e7aise en 2018, ses recherches portent sur l\u2019histoire de l\u2019aide humanitaire, des ONG et des organisations internationales, ainsi que sur l\u2019histoire contemporaine de l\u2019Afrique. En 2020, elle a obtenu un financement pour mettre en place avec Stacey Hynd de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Exeter, un projet intitul\u00e9 \u00ab Histories of Child-Saving in Africa: (Mis-)Understanding Childhood in Humanitarian Aid and Developmental Programmes, c.1935-2014 \u00bb. Elle est co-investigator dans le projet \u00ab Colonial and Transnational Intimacies: Medical Humanitarianism in the French external Resistance, 1940-1945 \u00bb dirig\u00e9 par Laure Humbert \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Manchester (2020-2022) et chercheuse associ\u00e9e sur le projet \u00ab Humanity internationalized: cases, dynamics and comparisons (1945-1980) \u00bb (Universit\u00e9 de Coimbra, 2021-2024). Elle est \u00e9galement charg\u00e9e d\u2019enseignement \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Gen\u00e8ve depuis 2016.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Marie-Luce Desgrandchamps defended in 2014 a joint PhD thesis (UNIGE\/Universit\u00e9 Paris 1 Panth\u00e9on-Sorbonne) published in 2018 under the title L’humanitaire en guerre civile. La crise du Biafra (1967-1970)<\/em>. Thanks to the support of the SNSF, she has been a visiting researcher at the Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute at the University of Manchester (postdoc, 2017-2019), at New York University, at King’s College London, and at the French Institute for Research in Africa in Ibadan (IFRA-Nigeria) (2011-2012). Winner of the “young researcher” prize of the French Red Cross Foundation in 2018, her research focuses on the history of humanitarian aid, NGOs and international organizations, as well as on the contemporary history of Africa. In 2020, she was awarded funding to set up a project with Stacey Hynd of the University of Exeter entitled “Histories of Child-Saving in Africa: (Mis-)Understanding Childhood in Humanitarian Aid and Developmental Programmes, c.1935-2014.” She is co-investigator in the project “Colonial and Transnational Intimacies: Medical Humanitarianism in the French external Resistance, 1940-1945” directed by Laure Humbert at the University of Manchester (2020-2022) and associate researcher on the project “Humanity internationalized: cases, dynamics and comparisons (1945-1980)” (University of Coimbra, 2021-2024). Dipl\u00f4m\u00e9 de l’Universit\u00e9 de Fribourg, Nicolas Constantin s\u2019est sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9 au cours de son Master of Arts en sciences historiques et histoire contemporaine sur l\u2019histoire de l\u2019aide humanitaire et du Mouvement Croix-Rouge. D\u00e9pos\u00e9 en f\u00e9vrier 2021 \u00e0 Fribourg, son travail de master porte sur le CICR, la Shoah et les Juifs de Roumanie. Depuis septembre 2021, il a commenc\u00e9 une th\u00e8se de doctorat dans le cadre de ce projet, sous la supervision du Prof. Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Fayet. Le titre provisoire de sa recherche est \u00ab La Croix-Rouge allemande en Guerre froide globale \u00bb.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

During his Master of Arts in Historical Sciences and Contemporary History at the University of Fribourg, Nicolas Constantin specialized in the history of humanitarianism and the Red Cross Movement. Submitted in February 2021, his master’s thesis focuses on the ICRC, the Holocaust and the Jews of Romania. Since September 2021, he has begun his PhD as part of this project, under the supervision of Prof. Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Fayet. The working title of his research is “The German Red Cross in the Global Cold War”.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Marie Cugnet est titulaire d\u2019une licence d\u2019histoire de l\u2019universit\u00e9 Paris-Sorbonne, d\u2019un dipl\u00f4me de 1er cycle en histoire des arts de l\u2019Ecole du Louvre (Paris), d\u2019un dipl\u00f4me de siamois (tha\u00ef) de l\u2019Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales (Paris), et d\u2019un master en sciences sociales des religions de l\u2019Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes (Paris).
D\u2019abord int\u00e9ress\u00e9e par l\u2019\u00e9tude des r\u00e9seaux bouddhistes internationaux, elle a r\u00e9dig\u00e9 un m\u00e9moire de master intitul\u00e9 \u00ab La World Fellowship of Buddhists, un exemple de diplomatie religieuse ? Enjeux et limites de la coop\u00e9ration bouddhiste 1950-1984 \u00bb, avant d\u2019int\u00e9grer en septembre 2021 l\u2019universit\u00e9 de Fribourg et le projet \u00ab La Croix-Rouge face \u00e0 l\u2019Etoile rouge \u00bb en tant que doctorante FNS.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Marie Cugnet graduated from the University of Paris-Sorbonne (B.A. in History); the Ecole du Louvre, Paris (Diploma in History of Arts); the Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales, Paris (Diploma in Siamese or Thai); and from the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes, Paris (M.A. in Social Sciences of Religions).
Originally interested in international Buddhist networks, Marie Cugnet wrote a master\u2019s thesis entitled: \u201cThe World Fellowship of Buddhists, an example of religious diplomacy? Issues and limits of Buddhist cooperation 1950 \u2013 1984\u201d. In September 2021, she joined the project “The Red Cross and the Red Star” as an SNSF PhD student at the University of Fribourg.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Antonina Skydanova est dipl\u00f4m\u00e9e de la facult\u00e9 d’histoire de l’universit\u00e9 nationale de Karazin \u00e0 Kharkiv, o\u00f9 elle a soutenu sa th\u00e8se de doctorat en 2010. Elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 charg\u00e9e de cours \u00e0 l’universit\u00e9 nationale de Karazin et \u00e0 l’universit\u00e9 nationale de l’arm\u00e9e de l’air ukrainienne. En juin 2022, gr\u00e2ce au soutien du FNS et du programme Scholars at Risk, elle a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 travailler au D\u00e9partement d’histoire contemporaine de l’Universit\u00e9 de Fribourg en tant que Senior Research Fellow. En mars 2024, elle a rejoint le projet “La Croix-Rouge face \u00e0 l’\u00c9toile Rouge : Humanitarisme et communisme au XXe si\u00e8cle”. Ses recherches portent sur les aspects humanitaires de l’histoire militaire en Europe centrale et orientale au cours des premi\u00e8res d\u00e9cennies du XXe si\u00e8cle.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Antonina Skydanova graduated from the Faculty of History at Karazin National University in Kharkiv and defended her PhD thesis there in 2010. She was a lecturer at Karazin National University and the National Air Force University of Ukraine. In June 2022, thanks to the support of the SNSF and the Scholars at Risk program, she started working as a Senior Research Fellow at the Department of Contemporary History of the University of Fribourg. In March 2024, she joined the project “The Red Cross Facing the Red Star: Humanitarianism and Communism in the 20th century”. Her research interests are related to the humanitarian aspects of military history in Central and Eastern Europe in the first decades of the 20th Century.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
