We intend to bring Chinese SF to Fribourg's international film festival in 2023 by curating a selection of the SF best films that came out of the PRC in past and recent years.
By making it the focus of our research, we are participating too in the cultural phenomenon that is "Chinese SF". At the same time, our position as scholars allows us a more critical perspective toward it. We intend to make this perspective available to the larger public by collaborating with different partners in and outside the academic community.
